Mr. Cigar's S.O.T.N.A.

Mr. Cigar's Newsletter
January, 2002

Welcome dear lovers of the leaf, libations, lovely ladies and big, fat prime porterhouse steaks (ok, so I can only take alliteration so far).

Welcome to Mr. Cigars State Of The Nation Address. In this edition I will attempt to tempt you with nothing but the best of everything. In the category of red wines. Run, Don't walk to your favorite vino store and pick up several bottles of Beringer Alluvium, Knights Valley 1997, a proprietary blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab. Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. This succulent sauce sets you back about twenty bucks (tastes like a hundred) and will stand up to the most robust stogie.

Bourbons you say? Makers Mark continues to be the most underrated but not under appreciated bourbon on the market (Bill Samuels rules). And the price is right, about twenty bucks. If you are looking for a bigger bolder Bourbon with a proof to put you on your butt. It's gotta be Knob Creek (100 proof). Please pummel me, I almost forgot to mention a white wine, yes, a white that actually has incredible body. Now as I am sure you are aware. Mr. Cigar is no wimp, some might say a manly man and generally I would rather drink a tall glass of cooking oil with a hair in it than purse my lips for a white, but, drum roll please...Conundrum by Caymus vineyards is the exception. This wine jams with a blend of Chard., Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon Viognier and Muscat. Pair this wine with a medium to full bodied cigar and you don't have to listen to Streisand to enjoy it (unless of course you are seeing someone who who really enjoys B.S.) Do I really have to clue you in on the worlds greatest Vodka?  If you don't Know by now. The train has pulled out and you are better off laying your head on the tracks.

Have I forgotten anything? Oh Yea. Some great guests are scheduled for upcoming "OUTLAW RADIO" shows including:  Legendary Hollywood special effects guru Stan Winston. He did all the Terminator movies, Jurassic Park etc.  The man, the myth Mr. Gary Owens from "laugh-In' will stop by the "LIGHTEN UP LOUNGE" as well as Movie and T.V. star Joseph Montegna, currently star of First Monday on CBS and funny man Ryan Stiles of "The Drew Carey" will drop by the Lounge for a KETEL.

So until next time, keep those stogies smokin', those libations flowin', them steaks medium and remember "It's easier to light one match than to blow out a lightbulb", Cheers!
